# Weekly and Daily planning

> Turn your longer-term plans into action, a week and a day at a time

Weekly and daily planning are the short routines that turn your quarterly plan into what you actually
do. This walkthrough covers setting your reminders, then planning a week and a day. Watch below, or read
the written steps that follow.

  The guided planning flow is currently a **Mac** feature. On iPhone you can view and schedule your day
  and week, but the guided flow itself isn't available there yet.

## Set when you're reminded

Open **Settings → Planning**. Here you choose when Sonto nudges you:

* **Daily** — by default on weekdays at 9am, not at weekends.
* **Weekly** — pick a day that suits you (the default is Friday).

The nudge appears both as a reminder at the top of the app and as a **system notification** — so even
when Sonto isn't running, you'll get a prompt, and clicking it drops you straight into planning.

When a reminder appears you can start planning, or **snooze** it for a day, **dismiss** it for the whole
week, change the settings, or cancel.

## Plan your week

<Steps>
  <Step title="Review last week">
    Sonto surfaces what's still open from last week. Jump over to see everything you completed if you
    like, then add a short **reflection** on how the week went.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Set your intention and pull work in">
    Say what this week is about. Then bring in the work: drag items from anywhere, or schedule tasks for
    the week. You can pull from your active quarterly plan so the week moves your bigger goals forward.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Right-size the week">
    If you've planned a lot, Sonto gently points it out — a cue to add priorities or trim. Flag the
    handful of tasks that matter most so they stand out.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Put key work on the calendar">
    The last step invites you to block time and, where you can, assign tasks to specific days. You won't
    always know the day yet — that's fine, leave those for later. Click **I am done** and your week is
    ready.
  </Step>
</Steps>

Because you've just planned the week, Sonto notices the next day isn't planned yet and offers to plan it
too — say yes to roll straight into daily planning.

## Plan your day

<Steps>
  <Step title="Review today">
    See what's still open and add a quick reflection.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose tomorrow's tasks">
    Today's unfinished tasks can be carried forward automatically. On the right you'll find this week's
    tasks, your active quarterly plan, your inbox, and your calendar — pull whatever's relevant onto the
    day.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Schedule it">
    Lay the day out in time, blocking the calendar for your bigger tasks. Click **Done** and you land on
    the day, tasks and schedule in place.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Tip>
  A small tab marks whether a day or week is **planned**. See a blank one — next week, say — and you can
  click it to plan ahead whenever you like.
