# Notifications & Reminders

> How Sonto reminds you — gently

Sonto is built around gentle focus, so it nudges rather than nags. Its reminders are designed to bring
the right thing to your attention at the right moment, without a stream of alerts.

## The planning reminder

The main nudge is the **planning reminder** — a prompt at the top of the screen when it's time to plan
your week or day. You choose when it appears, so it fits your own rhythm. Configure the timing in
**Settings**. See [Weekly and Daily Planning](/reference/planning/weekly-daily-planning).

## Project deadlines

When a [project](/reference/projects-areas) has a deadline coming up (within 30 days), Sonto surfaces it
in your sidebar. In the deadline week it also appears on your Week screen, and on the day itself, on
your Day screen — so it shows up right when it matters, rather than as a separate alert.

## Availability

The planning reminder and deadline surfacing work on both **Mac** and **iPhone**.
