# Quick Capture

> Add tasks to Sonto from anywhere, without breaking focus

The fastest way to stay focused is to get a thought out of your head and into Sonto without stopping
what you're doing. Anything you capture this way lands in your [inbox](/reference/screens) (unless you
choose otherwise), ready to be sorted during planning.

## On Mac

* **Global hotkeys** — set up two custom hotkeys that work even when Sonto is in the background: one to
  add a task to your inbox, another to add to today. Configure them in **Settings → Tasks**. See

* **Spotlight** — type `add to sonto` in Spotlight to capture a task without bringing Sonto to the
  front. See [Siri & Spotlight](/reference/other-topics/siri).
* **Share extension** — send text or links to Sonto from any app's Share menu. See
  [Share extension](/reference/other-topics/share-extension).

## On iPhone

* **Siri** — say "Add task to Sonto", then name the task and where it should go (inbox, today,
  tomorrow, this week, or next week). See [Siri & Spotlight](/reference/other-topics/siri).
* **Share extension** — tap the Share icon in any app and choose Sonto. See
  [Share extension](/reference/other-topics/share-extension).

  Quick capture saves your text as a plain task name. Once it's in Sonto, open the task and use
  [natural language input](/reference/natural-language-input) to schedule it, block time, file it, and
  tag it — just by typing.

## Availability

Quick capture is available on both **Mac** and **iPhone**, though the specific entry points differ as
above.
